How to become a notary in Arizona

The online application may be started regardless of whether the applicant has their surety bond, however, they will not be able to complete it and receive their notary commission without a valid notary bond.
The applicant must include their full name exactly as it is to appear on the commission, email address, date of birth, and gender on the online application. The name on the application must match the name on the surety bond. Applicants must also indicate whether this is a new or renewal commission in the state of Arizona.
At this point in the application, a $5,000 notary bond is required to continue. The applicant must provide the date the bond was issued, the bond’s effective and expiration dates, the bond number, and the surety company that issued the bond.
Once the bond information has been filled out, applicants may proceed with the application. They will be asked to provide home, mailing, and public record addresses, as well as listing any languages in which they will be offering notarizations and what hours they will be offering notarial services.
Finally, the applicant will be asked to provide the last four digits of his or her social security number and whether or not they have a valid driver’s license.
