This means that if your bond expires, your license will be automatically canceled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep reading to learn more about what this means for your license and how to avoid a lapse in coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who Needs to Maintain an Active Bond?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following California DMV occupational licensees need to have an active surety bond at all times:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Driving schools\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>ATV training organizations<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>In-person and online traffic violator schools<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vehicle lessor-retailers<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Motor vehicle dealers and wholesalers<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Registration servicers<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vehicle verifiers<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vehicle remanufacturers<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Employer testing program participants<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t renew your bond on time, your license will be automatically cancelled. You\u2019ll then need to submit a new license application to reinstate it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How Do I Renew My Occupational License Bond?\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you already have an active surety bond, all you need to do is follow your surety company\u2019s renewal instructions and file it with the DMV.
