Colorado will begin accepting Retail Marijuana applications on October 1, 2013

The Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division will begin accepting Retail Marijuana applications on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

The following is stated in section 12-43.4-104 of the revised statute.

“On or after October 1, 2013, a person who is operating in Good Standing a Licensed Medical Marijuana Center, and Optional Premises Cultivation License, or a Licensed Medical Marijuana-Infused Products Business or a person who had a pending application with the State Licensing Authority prior to December 10, 2012, has paid all applicable licensing fees, and has not yet had that application approved, may apply for a Retail Marijuana Establishment License under this article.”

To apply, applicants must submit a completed MED Retail Marijuana business license and surety bond form. As stated on the bond form, the surety bond must be in the amount of $5,000.00.

In order to submit an application, all applicants must schedule an appointment to meet with a background investigator who will review all application materials. At the time of application submission, all applicants must pay the required fees (listed here).
