2019 Scholarship Finalists: Alyssa Altomonte

The following was written by Alyssa Altomonte, a finalist for the 2019 SuretyBonds.com Small Business Scholarship, to accompany her video submission.

My mother owns a puppy training and boarding business named Positively Puppy. It has been running for over two years and has been very busy and successful. This business is conducted in my home, so I am involved with it every day. The puppies stay in our house for a number of days, so the job is hands-on and demanding, but worth the work. I have learned a lot about how a successful business is run. I interact with our clients, help out with marketing, and train dogs along with my mother. The business has also taught me about the value of hard work. Taking care of puppies is no easy feat. They need to be cleaned up after, played with, and kept out of trouble. But the hard work results in a job well done. We have a responsibility to keep these dogs safe, happy, and healthy, as well as training them well to satisfy their owners.

This video is a slideshow of many of the photos and videos I have taken of our puppies over the years. The content shows the goal of our business: keeping puppies happy and loved, and training them in a positively reinforced manner.
