How to register a Louisiana Credit Repair Services Organization

This Louisiana credit repair services organization registration guide is for informational purposes only. SuretyBonds.com does not regulate or manage registration for credit repair services organizations in Louisiana. The Louisiana Credit Repair Service Organization Act requires credit repair services organizations file a registration statement with the Attorney General's Office before working in the state. Louisiana Revised Statutes Section 9:3573.2 defines a credit repair services organization as "a person who, with respect to a buyer, in return for the payment of money or other valuable consideration, directly or indirectly, provides or represents that he can or will, directly or indirectly, provide any of the following services:

(a)  Improving a buyer's credit record, history, or rating.

(b)  Advice or assistance to a buyer with regard to improving a buyer's credit record, history, or rating, including the sale of a self-help instructional guide."

If this definition applies to you, you must be registered with the state before offering credit repair services.
