Why do I need this bond?

Oklahoma athletic agents must obtain a surety bond in compliance with the Oklahoma Uniform Athlete Agents Act. The bond protects any person harmed by the principal (athletic agent). The surety will pay up to the full bond amount to the harmed party in order to settle the claim, at which point the athletic agent must reimburse the surety.

What’s the fine print?

Athlete agent bonds are in effect for one year unless claimed against or canceled by the surety. The surety must give 60 days’ advance, written notice to the obligee before the cancellation can take effect.
