First, you need to complete the required apprenticeship program. Depending on the length of your apprenticeship, you may also need to attend an approved auction school.

To apply for your resident auctioneer license, submit these documents to the ASBA:

  • Statement to the Board
  • General information form
  • Qualifying questionnaire
  • Affidavit of endorsement (two required)
  • Exam registration form + $150 fee
  • Letter of recommendation from sponsor
  • Surety bond

  • Proof of apprenticeship + copy of auctioneer diploma (if applicable)
  • Proof of citizenship
  • Escrow or trust account (if holding client funds)
