Kansas liquor license bonds are put in place to ensure that principals (alcohol professionals) comply with all provisions of the Kansas Liquor Control Act and the rules and regulations of the Director of the Alcoholic Beverage Control, including promptly paying all fees, fines, and taxes required. The bond also authorizes employees of the Kansas Department of Revenue to disclose to the surety a statement of account relating to the tax guaranteed by the bond.

This bond will remain in full force and effect unless otherwise canceled by the principal or surety. Kansas liquor drink tax surety bonds ensure that principals (alcohol sellers) adhere to all provisions of the Kansas Liquor Drink Tax Laws, Rules, and Regulations relating to the payments of liquor drink tax and penalties due under the laws of the state. If the principal fails to pay the required taxes, a claim can be filed against the bond. If this happens, the Kansas Department of Revenue is authorized to disclose to the surety a statement of taxes owed by the principal.
Kansas alcohol tax bonds remain continuous until canceled. The principal and surety can cancel the bond by giving 30 days’ written notice of cancellation to the state.
