How Do I Renew My Bond?

Nebraska private detective agency bonds expire every two years. We’ll send email and text renewal reminders starting 90 days before the expiration date.

Note: The SOS recommends purchasing your surety bond so the bond term does not expire until the end of the licensing period. All licenses must be renewed by June 30 of even-numbered years.

How to Get a Private Detective License in Nebraska

To qualify for a private detective or agency license, you must first meet one of the following experience requirements:

• 3,000 hours of experience
• 2,500 hours with associate degree in the field
• 2,000 hours with bachelors degree in the field
