The Tennessee Application of Pesticides Act of 1978 requires individuals file a surety bond before being licensed to control, manage, and/or eradicate weeds, plant diseases, insects, rodents, birds, or other vertebrate/invertebrate pests. State form AG-0105 is officially titled the “Certificate of Surety Bond” but is more commonly known as the “pest control company bond,” “pest control applicator bond,” or just “pest control bond.” Those licensed as a commercial applicator file a $50,000 bond while all other license types file a $10,000 bond. 

Why do I need a pest control surety bond?

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture requires any pest control business applicant file a Tennessee pesticide applicator bond before they can receive a license to operate in the state. By filing Tennessee surety bond form AG-0105 you agree to comply with all terms and conditions of the Tennessee Application of Pesticides Act of 1978. If you fail to do so, your issuing surety company will pay valid claims up to your full $10,000 or $50,000 bond amount, which you'd be required to reimburse.
